Mad Gracie Photo Blog

 A little while back Kathleen was asked to be a brides maid in the wedding of one of her best friends from college Megan. Naturally she agreed and rather than leaving Maddie at home and flying to St. Petersburg Fla. we decided it would be a great road trip with the munchkin. We contacted our dear friends the Bondays in Jacksonville Fla, who had never met Maddie, and made plans to stay with them both on the way to and from St. Pete to break up the trip a bit. So the day finally arrived and we set out at 4am on a Wednesday for Jax. We had to stop at South of the Border for a photo with Pedro and of course a few other necessary stops along the way.  Maddie handled the entire trip like a champ both on the road and at our destinations. She loved meeting the Bondays especially Andrew & Nicholas !! While in St. Pete Maddie & I spent a lot of time hanging around wandering around town while Kathleen attended the wedding functions and stuff. Thursday evening when Maddie wouldn’t fall asleep we took a stroll around town &  ended up sitting outside near a club listening to Big Head Todd & the Monsters, a really good band who was in town. Finally the big day came and after hanging around town all day seeing the sights we got all dressed up and made our way to the Ryan & Megan’s ceremony. She was great during the whole ceremony and reception dancing with mommy & daddy and of course a congratulations to the happy couple…only a little fussy later in the evening which wasn’t even that bad. We made the 3 1/2 hour trek back to Jax on Sunday and hung around with the Bondays again before making the long journey back home Monday morning. Of course as any trip we have ever taken to Fla. we had to make a Waffle House stop, Maddie’s first, she had a kids meal and of course the waitresses all thought she was adorable ! Over all the trip was a huge success; both for Maddie’s first of many big adventures to come and for the fun we had as a family !! Well she’s not exactly asking for the keys yet but as you can see she might be driving before she walks. Maddie is talking up a storm, though not much of it makes much sense to anyone else but her. Walking is just around the corner, she’s being a bit more bold with letting go when she’s standing up.
