We took Madeleine to search for the 2008 Button family Christmas tree a few weeks ago. It didn’t take long to find a perfect little tree that we all loved. While were at the tree farm, a place called Enviromental Evergreens owned by a friend and former teacher of mine Bob Chance, Maddie met Santa Bob and his reindogs.

Kathleen dressed Maddie up in her Christmas dress and we took her to see Santa on Tuesday evening at the Harford Mall. It was surprisingly quick & painless. We were a bit unsure how she would do but she handled it like a champ….she sat on Santa’s lap, grabbed his beard and looked around…didn’t shed a tear or even get fussy. She looked toward the camera when we called her name, the girl snapped a couple of shots and we were done !!

So for Halloween Madeleine was a pink bunny rabbit complete with an orange carrot. She was just toooo cute, as you can see !!! She made the rounds with Kathleen since I had to work that evening. She hit up aunt Kris & uncle Jeff where she met up with cousin Elise too. Then she visited our friends and co-worker Jim and Anne Kennedy and her biggest fan Mrs. Terri Thomas before heading off to see Grams and Grandpa…who said she looked like Ralphie from the movie ” A Christmas Story”. Though she really didn’t get any loot she still had fun being all dressed up and hanging out !!! I’ll be putting up a few more pics soon so please check back.

I had to cover a fall festival at Swan Harbor Farms on Sunday, which is where Kathleen & I got hitched. So we got Madeleine all geared up in her Sunday Ravens gear and headed out. The first thing we spotted as we entered the festival was POE !! the Ravens mascot. He was of course mobbed with small children, even a few adults acting like small children, so we waited until the crowd died down a bit and moved in for a few pics of the munchkin with him !!! As you can see she wasn’t scared a bit and even gave him a high five. Though I think she was more interested in his beak.

The Bel Air Festival for the Arts, which is really more of a craft show, happened a few weeks ago. I had to cover it for the paper so Kathleen and Maddie along with Amy,Bryan and Eli came along for some good family fun and a chance to see some cool art on a really nice sunday afternoon. All had a great time, Maddie even got a cool hat for the winter (pics to come) and tried out the cool shades. Please check out the Art in the Park page for a few more photos !!
Halfway to One

Yup, the munchkin is officially SIX MONTHS OLD !! Sitting up by herself is not a problem though she sometimes leans a bit to far and takes a header, no major damage to report so far. Baby babble has become the language of choice and of course mom & dad are not quite fluent but picking it up pretty fast. Drool is constant since she’s teething, there is a little bump on her bottom gum so I’m expecting an unhappy child anytime now…the reward will be worth it though.
