sweet-air-01.jpg sweet-air-05.jpg Friday was a perfect spring day and Kathleen and I decided to join Billy for a hike at one of my favorite spots, the sweet air section of Gunpowder state park. So we packed up the munchkin and headed out for a nice hike through the Barley Pond loop. Maddie handled it pretty well…a few minor crying incidents but nothing a quick fix of the binky couldn’t take care of. The Baby Bjourn carrier we have is NICE, she actually slept most of the time.Maddie is now part of the hike club group.  To see a few more photos check out the baby hike page.

kid-05.jpgDr. Kaplan was so great, calm through the entire thing, she is the doc after all. I remember saying to her that things seemed almost to calm. I figured a room filled with people in scrubs with masks over their faces huddled over my wife & another group of nurses or something at the ready. She assured me that everything was going just fine and Kathleen kept pushing. Later as the “moment” was building , in came exactly what I expected to see all along. The team of doctors,  nurses, specialists, whatever they were, came in took the hand-off did all sorts of tests, shots, prints and after ten minutes or so it was back to just us again. Thanks for everything Dr. Kaplan and all the wonderful people who took FANTASTIC care of my wife and of course Madeleine.
